My
professional practice concentrates on the style of Fashion photography whilst working
within fine art concepts, such as; the form, the body, the gaze and concealing
and revealing.
Aesthetically I aim to create strong, bold and evocative imagery, with rich textures and tones, shooting in black and white on a digital format, and creating work that would be expectable both in an exhibition space, and within the pages of high end fashion magazines.
Within my images my objective is to create an unconventional twist on other forms of Fashion photography, using fabric and other materials to conceal the sitter, creating a sense of ambiguity.
The premise of my work is an exploration of the fashion image using material to obstruct and disguise part(s) of the body and challenging the boundaries of what a fashion image is.
I rely on the inquisitiveness of the audience to question the image, and to reveal their own beliefs relating to religion, the form and the body.
